GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) - A former central Kentucky basketball star
has been released from jail after 60 days for violating his bond.
Jonathan "Bud" Mackey was the most valuable player at the
Sweet 16 tournament last year, but got into trouble when he was
arrested on charges of possession of rock cocaine.
Mackey was released from the Scott County Jail at 12:01 a.m. Thursday morning.
A judge has ordered that Mackey live with his grandfather in
Lexington and get a full-time job or work toward his GED.
Mackey had planned to play basketball at Indiana before his
arrest. His trial on drug charges begins in August.
