27 Teams in 27 Days - West Jessamine

LEXINGTON, Ky (WKYT) - It was a less than successful season for West Jessamine. Despite a win over cross town rival East Jessamine, the Colts failed to win another game. Coach Graham Heasley is looking at the positive.

"Our guys got a head start on weightlifting since we didn't make the playoffs unfortunately, said Heasley." "The biggest difference between this year and last year is the amount of work the kids have put in."

Another difference will be the offense with new coordinator Yancy Marcum. The Colts will emphasize the running game.

"I think we are confident enough to ground and pound, put up some points and run time off the clock," said wide receiver Rob Irgang.

"I think I like it. We will come out and play smash mouth football and put points on the board," said center Greg Gibson.

The Colts will need to run the ball without last season's leading rusher Romando Tatum.

"We feel confident, we will run a lot of power I, and we have one returning running back, and I feel confident in doing some big things this year," said quarterback Ryan Horne.

"We will have more three yards and a cloud of dust football from West Jessamine this year," said Heasley.
