Boyd returns to practice, adds depth to receiving corps

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Rich Brooks says freshman
wide receiver Aaron Boyd has returned to practice following a
prolonged bout with mononucleosis.
Brooks said it's too early to tell if Boyd will be available on
Saturday when the Wildcats host Norfolk State in their home opener.
Brooks said that Boyd shows promise, but because he's missed many
of the Wildcats' preseason practices and team meetings he's behind
most of his teammates.
The Wildcats could use some help after a less than stellar debut
by several new receivers in the win over Louisville. Though the
receivers performed capably in the passing game, it was their lack
of commitment to run blocking that drew criticism from Brooks.
Offensive tackle Gary Williams injured his knee during Mondays
practice and is questionable against Norfolk State.
