UK's Williams out 2-3 weeks

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky left tackle Garry Williams will
miss the next two to three weeks because of a cartilage tear in his
knee.
Coach Rich Brooks made the announcement after the team's
practice Thursday. Williams had surgery Thursday morning to repair
the tear.
Williams is easily the most experienced member of the offensive
line. He had started 26 consecutive games. Brooks said he will
likely be replaced by either redshirt freshman Billy Joe Murphy or
junior James Alexander.
Kentucky opens its home season Saturday night against Norfolk
State.
