UK coach Rich Brooks said Sunday three players suffered high ankle sprains in Saturday's game with Middle Tennessee and all three are out indefinitely. Linebacker Micah Johnson, defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin and Quarterback Randall Cobb were all on crutches on the UK sidelines. Brooks said he'll know more Monday about their condition but he said it is doubtful any of the three will be albe to play against Western Kentucky September 27th.
Brooks said cornerback David Jones has a hyperextended knee and will be out a few days. Offensive guard Stuart Hines and tight end T.C. Drake both suffered ankle sprains in the game and will miss a few days of practice.
Brooks said he would put his squad back on the practice field Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. He said he would evaluate all position for performance and performance in practice will lead to playing time in the next game.
The wildcats have an open date Saturday before returning to the field the following weekend against Western.
