FT. COLLINS, Colo. - Cancun Challenge organizers announced the official game schedule for the inaugural event this fall in men's basketball. The Cancun Challenge features 10 men's college basketball teams, including Morehead State, and includes eight games played in the United States, and 10 games played at the all-inclusive Moon Palace resort in Cancun, Mexico.
Vanderbilt, New Mexico, Virginia Commonwealth, and Drake headline the field, and will be joined by Central Arkansas, Central Florida, Citadel, Grambling State, MSU, and South Dakota State.
This exclusive tournament is comprised of four host teams (Vanderbilt, New Mexico, Virginia Commonwealth, Drake) who will each host two games in their home arenas, then play each other for two games in Cancun. The other six teams will travel to U.S. games, then play two games in Cancun.
The Cancun Challenge is run by Fort Collins, Colo.-based Triple Crown Sports, which also organizes women's college basketball tournaments in Cancun. Triple Crown coordinates the Preseason and Postseason Women's NIT as well.
