Madness sold out

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Once again, Kentucky fans have demonstrated an insatiable appetite for basketball. All 23,000 tickets to the 2008 Big Blue Madness were snapped up in the first 40 minutes of availability Saturday morning.

Hundreds of fans were present at UK's Memorial Coliseum ticket office Saturday at 7 a.m. when the distribution of free tickets began. Others obtained their tickets via the school's Website, ukathletics.com and ticketmaster.com.

Big Blue Madness, the first open practice opportunity for Kentucky's 2008-09 men's and women's basketball teams, is Friday, Oct. 10, at 10:30 p.m. Fans will be allowed to enter Rupp Arena beginning at 9 p.m. the night of Big Blue Madness.

This will be the fourth time Madness has been held at Rupp Arena, where over 23,000 fans have attended each of the last three years.
