RICHMOND, Ky. – Senior quarterback Allan Holland was named OVC Football Offensive Player of the Week Sunday as announced by the league office. Holland completed 31-of-41 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns in Eastern Kentucky’s 29-16 victory at Southeast Missouri on Saturday.
The passing totals marked a season high in attempts, completions and passing yards for Holland, the reigning OVC Offensive Player of the Year. The native of Hazard, Ky., led EKU on back-to-back 10-plus play touchdown drives in the second half after Eastern trailed SEMO late in the third quarter, 16-7.
The win was the fifth in a row for the Colonels (6-3, 5-1 OVC), who are tied for first place in the league with one loss.
Other award winners from this weekend included Murray State linebacker Nathan Williams (Defensive), Austin Peay kick returner Terrence Holt (Specialist) and Jacksonville State quarterback Ryan Perrilloux (Newcomer).
Following a bye week this coming weekend, the Colonels will be back in action for Senior Day on Nov. 15 against Murray State. Kickoff at Roy Kidd Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
