Cats roll in exhibition game

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Jodie Meeks scored 27 points, including
seven 3-pointers, and Patrick Patterson had 24 points and 11
rebounds to lead Kentucky to a 111-53 victory over Missouri-St.
Louis in an exhibition game Monday night.
Kentucky went ahead 10-0 in the opening minutes on a Meeks layup
and never trailed, leading by 62-23 at halftime and 107-43 on a
Harrellson jumper late in the game.
In his first game for Kentucky, junior college transfer Josh
Harrellson had 21 points and led the team with 12 rebounds, while
freshman guard Darius Miller added 14 points.
Guard Jeremy Brown led the Tritons with 10 points.
Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie said guard A.J. Stewart sat out
the game dressed in street clothes on the bench because of a team
Coach Billy Gillispie praised his team's performance but added
that there were still improvements to make, including fixing
defense and transition problems. Gillispie said he didn't feel
Kentucky was as weak as he thought they would be in terms of
defense, rebounding and depth.
