LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky forward Patrick Patterson says
he's fully recovered from an ankle injury that cut short his
freshman season and he's ready to help lead the Wildcats back to
the top of the Southeastern Conference.
Patterson averaged 16.4 points and 7.7 rebounds last season and
was named Co-SEC Freshman of the Year before going down in
late-February with a stress fracture.
Patterson spent six months recovering from surgery to repair the
ankle, but says he's 100 percent. Coach Billy Gillispie says he may
limit Patterson's minutes this season in an effort to keep him
fresh, but expects Patterson to be one of the keys for the
Kentucky opens the season on Friday at home against Virginia
