Georgetown Wraps Up Season With Win

Tiger Football finished the season with a 48-0 win over West Virginia Tech at home on Saturday. The last Georgetown shutout was last season, against the same conference opponent. The win evens the win-loss record to 5-5 and 3-3 in the Mid-South Conference East Division.

Freshman quarterback Alex Matthews made his first collegiate start for the Tigers and finished the day connecting on nine passes for a total of 77 yards and one touchdown. The Shelbyville native also rushed for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Senior fullback Kyle Howe was productive in his last game, scoring two touchdowns. Fellow senior Dempsey Schlueter tied his career-high with a 45 yard field goal for the first score of the day.
