Former Wildcat volleyball star dies following car wreck

Former Wildcat volleyball standout Jenni Casper has died from her injuries sustained in a Saturday morning car wreck.

The Louisville native was critically injured when she crashed her SUV on Lexington’s Chinoe Road.

Casper, 24, graduated from UK in 2007 after enjoying a stellar career. Casper was a two-time SEC Defensive Player of the Year and is the league’s all-time leader in digs. She ranks 13th in NCAA Division 1 volleyball history in career digs.
