Funny Cide moving to Horse Park

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Former Kentucky Derby champion Funny Cide
is moving to a new home.
The winner of the 2003 Derby will join former racing stars
Alysheba and Cigar in the Hall of Champions at the Kentucky Horse
Park next week.
The 8-year-old gelding won nine stakes races during his career,
including a stirring victory in the Derby. He retired from racing
in 2007 and has spent the last year as a stable pony for trainer
Barclay Tagg.
Tagg says the rigors of racing and training have taken a toll on
Funny Cide, and that it's time for him to earn a much-needed break.
The Horse Park announced the move Wednesday. Park Executive
Director John Nicholson calls Funny Cide the rare horse who
captured the public's imagination and believes he'll become a
popular attraction.
