Cats hear from NFL, nearing decisions on UK future

After asking the NFL Draft Advisory Board to evaluate their draft status, juniors Jeremy Jarmon and Micah Johnson likely will return for their final season at UK.

Sources tell 27 SportsFirst that the players, along with cornerback Trevard Lindley, have received the NFL paperwork.

Jarmon, a defensive end from Collierville, Tenn., is projected by the Advisory Board to be selected between the 5th and 7th rounds, if he were to come out.

Johnson is a linebacker from Ft. Campbell. If Johnson were to enter the draft, he could expect to be selected anywhere from the 3rd to 5th rounds. Following UK’s win over East Carolina in the Liberty Bowl, Johnson told 27 SportsFirst that if the NFL projected him to go as high as the 2nd round, he likely would leave school.

Lindley was named All-SEC and is projected as a 2nd-rounder. According to sources, Lindley likely will enter the NFL Draft.

There has been no official word from UK or the players.
