LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky forward A.J. Stewart is staying
with the Wildcats despite reports that he was leaving the program.
Coach Billy Gillispie says Stewart quit the team following a
loss to South Carolina on Wednesday but reconsidered on Thursday.
Gillispie added that Stewart remains part of the UK family and
would be available on Saturday when Kentucky (19-9, 8-5
Southeastern Conference) hosts No. 18 LSU (24-4, 12-1).
Stewart, a sophomore, is averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds
in 24 games. He has played sporadically for much of the year but
appeared to be in Gillispie's good graces of late. He played eight
effective minutes in a win at Arkansas then posted a season-high 11
in a loss to Vanderbilt and scored five points in six minutes in a
rout of Tennessee last Saturday.

Billy G. is a excellent coach, period. The team members besides patterson and Jodie need to step up, it is not Gillispie, he works hard out on the court with them. Keep Billy G.

Now you see all you tubby haters, his teams at UK were never this bad. That is what you UK fans get. What goes around comes around hard. I hope Billy stays forever.

Excuse me Jackie but a coach has to have players willing to play first and fore most. You just cannot have two players willing to play all the time while the others just stand by watching. I think Billy is great and I hope he stays and I am glad mitch supports him.
