LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Speed dominated power as Eastern held off
Corbin 75-61 to advance in the Boys' Sweet Sixteen State Basketball
Tournament at Rupp Arena on Wednesday.
Senior guard Chris Dowe scored 27 points to lead the Eastern
(31-2) in its first tournament trip in 11 years.
The Eagles managed to claw their way through eight first half
lead changes and hold at least a 10-point lead throughout most of
the second half. Over-matched in the paint, the Eagles still
out-rebounded the Redhounds 49 to 29.
Corbin (29-4) was led by senior forward Josh Crawford with 33
Eastern will play Louisville city rival Central on Friday at
1:30 p.m. in the quarterfinal round.
