Mason County Upset By Shelby Valley In Boys Sweet 16

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Junior guard Elisha Justice scored 22
points and had three key steals in the fourth quarter to lead
Shelby Valley to an upset win over state champion Mason County
51-44 in the first round of the Boys' Sweet Sixteen State
Basketball Tournament.
The victory also marked Shelby Valley's first win in the state
tournament, being held at Rupp Arena.
Shelby Valley (31-4) kept Mason County (24-7) to just 27 percent
shooting to advance to the quarterfinals.
Mason County was led by Russ Middleton who had 24 points,
including seven 3-pointers.
The Wildcats will play the winner of Anderson County and Elliott
County on Friday at 8 p.m.
