Daniel Orton Has Not Asked To Be Released

A number of media outlets have reported that Daniel Orton has asked for his release from his national letter of intent with Kentucky, but 27 Sportsfirst has talked with Orton's father Larry and he says it's a lie.

When asked about it Larry Orton went on to say, "Daniel doesn't even deal with stuff like that....so that's a lie."

Reports began surfacing early this morning and when asked how a report like this could get out Daniels father said, "The guy made it up, like a lot of this stuff is made up."

Rumors have been swirling that Orton would not play at Kentucky if DeMarcus Cousins signed with the Wildcats. The Orton camp says that's not the case, "I don't know where it's coming from, all made up, Daniel has not asked for his release."

Larry Orton's father told 27 Sportsfirst a few weeks ago there was a possibility Daniel could re-open his recruitment when John Calipari was hired. At this time Daniel is still Kentucky bound, "As far as we know right now, Daniel is coming to UK, Daniel has not asked for his release," Larry Orton says.
