University of Kentucky men's basketball head coach John Calipari will never be out of reach, at least from online fans.
Calipari has created his own Twitter account so fans can receive instant updates, or "tweets," directly from Coach Calipari.
As of 6:00 Thursday night, more than 600 people were "following" the coach, despite the fact he hadn't made his first "tweet." Later Thursday night, more than 2,000 users were following him. One of his first "tweets" said, "Imagine Rajon Rondo in the dribble-drive offense. I'm loving UK!"
Users must create an account to join. Once logged in, fans have the choice of following other users, and they can activate their mobile devices to receive "tweets" as other users, including Coach Calipari's account, post them.
Twitter is a free service that lets users keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
Coach Calipari does not have a Facebook page at this time.
