Square Eddie Out Of Derby

Kentucky Derby contender Square Eddie is
out of the Run for the Roses.
Trainer Doug O'Neill says his 3-year old colt had a reoccurrence
of a shin problem that hindered his training over the last three
O'Neill said Square Eddie developed a hot spot in the shin at
Churchill Downs over the weekend.
O'Neill said the injury kept Square Eddie off the Derby trail
earlier this year. He finished third in his last start on April 18
in the Lexington Stakes.
O'Neill plans to give the horse a few weeks off before deciding
where to race next.
The injury is not believed to be career threatening.
