Former UK recruit commits to Gonzaga

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - Kentucky recruit G.J. Vilarino decided he
didn't want to play for new coach John Calipari, and has verbally
committed to play for Gonzaga.
Vilarino committed to Kentucky and coach Billy Gillespie two
years ago. But he re-opened his recruitment after the Wildcats
changed coaches. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound guard at McKinney (Texas)
High committed Monday.
Vilarino was born in Spokane, but only lived in the region for
about a year before the family relocated to Seattle and eventually
to McKinney, near Dallas. Vilarinos father, Gerry, was stationed
at Fairchild Air Force base and the family has relatives in the
area.
Vilarino is the sixth commitment in the Bulldogs large 2009
class, joining Manny Arop, Sam Dower, Kelly Olynyk, Elias Harris
and Bol Kong.
