Rachel Alexandra has new trainer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kentucky Oaks winner Rachel Alexandra has a new trainer a day after being sold to Stonestreet Stables.

The 3-year-old filly was moved to the barn of Steve Asmussen on Thursday morning at Churchill Downs, hours after Stonestreet owner Jess Jackson completed the purchase from Dolphus Morrison and Michael Lauffer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jackson, owner of 2007-08 Horse of the Year Curlin, says there is no timetable for Rachel Alexandra's next race, although there's a chance she could run in the Preakness on May 16. It would cost the new owners a supplemental entry fee of $100,000.

The horse galloped around Churchill Downs on Thursday morning. Asmussen said her next workout would likely be Sunday or Monday.
