Rachel Alexandra Impressive In Workout

Rachel Alexandra breezed through an easy
workout at Churchill Downs, but it still remains uncertain whether
the 3-year-old filly will run in the Preakness.
Rachel Alexandra covered four furlongs in 48.40 seconds Sunday
in her first work since winning the Kentucky Oaks by a record 20¼
lengths May 1. Steve Asmussen raved about the filly, saying
everything about her has been impressive since he took over as her
new trainer last week.
New owner Jess Jackson, who purchased Rachel Alexandra for an
undisclosed sum last Wednesday, said he would enter the filly in
the second jewel of the Triple Crown if she continued to train
Asmussen said Jackson has not made a decision to pay the
$100,000 supplemental fee required to make her eligible for
Saturday's Preakness.
