LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky vs. Miami football game on Sept. 5 will kick off at noon and will be televised by ESPNU, it was announced Wednesday. The game will be played in Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals.

Tickets for the game may be ordered in person at the University of Kentucky Ticket Office at the Joe Craft Center or on the phone at 800-928-CATS. Tickets cost $35 for upper level, $45 for lower level and $75 for club level. All seats in Paul Brown Stadium are chairbacks.

Billed as the “Rumble at the River,” the game is the season opener for both teams. Under Coach Rich Brooks, Kentucky begins its quest to earn a fourth-consecutive bowl bid for the first time in school history. Miami enters a new era with the debut of head coach Mike Haywood, former Notre Dame offensive coordinator.

This will be the first of numerous televised games for the Wildcats during the 2009 season. The new Southeastern Conference television contract calls for all SEC vs. SEC games to be televised by CBS or an ESPN affiliate.

What a great way to start the season with a big L. Those MAC teams always give the Cats problems.

I totally disagree with the concept that Basketball is the only sport, I do agree it is dominant in Kentucky but our Football program is great and has great young men that are great athletes and represent the State with Class. And if anyone has played football you better wear pads just like a jock strap in basketball!!!
