LeBron James pays Wildcats surprise visit

The King has entered the building.

LeBron James, Cleveland’s All-Star power forward, paid a visit to the UK campus on Friday. UK coach John Calipari and James are friends – last week Calipari visited with the Akron native at his LeBron James Skills Camp.

James ducked into the Joe Craft Center, accompanied by UK assistants Rod Strickland and Orlando Antigua. James was dressed casually, sporting a striped-white polo shirt, khaki shorts and his signature Nike black and white LeBron James shoes.

Sources tell 27 SportsFirst that Calipari knew of the visit, but didn’t tell his players that royalty was coming, wanting instead, to pull off the surprise.

On his Twitter page, Calipari posted, “Ok its official. The King was in the practice facility. LeBron James stopped to say hello on the way to an event in Mississippi.”

“The building was going crazy. The players were excited to see him! LeBron works as hard as any pro and is a good man.”

And finally, “My goal is to coach both LeBron Jr and Bryce, his sons...(probably for one year!!!)

UK forward Perry Stevenson posted this message on his Facebook account: “Yep, just met bron, bron… Jealous? lol”
