Calipari making donation to 9/11 fund

University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari will make a donation from proceeds of his book, “Bounce Back: Overcoming Setbacks to Succeed in Life and in Business” to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, it was announced today.

“The 9/11 Memorial is thankful for the generosity of Coach Calipari who is doing his part to help create this national tribute,” said Joe Daniels, President of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. “Under the leadership of our Chairman Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Board of Directors, the 9/11 Memorial and Museum is rapidly progressing towards its goal of opening on the 10th anniversary of the attacks.”

Coach Calipari will be at the Borders Wall Street location (100 Broadway) on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. and plans to visit the World Trade Center site after his signing.

“Knowing that I will be signing books in a store adjacent to the World Trade Center site on the eve of 9/11, moved my wife Ellen and I to make this donation in hopes of honoring those who lost their lives on that solemn day eight years ago,” said Calipari.
