LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (AP) - A prosecutor says she has offered a
plea bargain to former Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie in a drunken
Anderson County Attorney Bobbi Jo Lewis discussed the plea
bargain in court Wednesday during a pretrial conference with
Gillispie's attorney, William Patrick. Gillispie didn't attend.
Lewis says no agreement has been reached. Patrick said that a
"reasonable offer" had been proposed, but he needs to further
discuss it with his client.
Gillispie is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
Gillispie was arrested last month on a driving under the
influence charge after refusing sobriety tests during an early
morning traffic stop in Anderson County. He later checked into an
alcohol rehab program in Texas.
Gillispie was fired this season after two years coaching the
