Ex-Wildcat Pakulak signs with Redskins

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The Washington Redskins will have a new
punter Sunday.

Coach Jim Zorn said Friday that Glenn Pakulak will be added to
the active roster and will take over Hunter Smith's duties as
punter and holder for the game at Carolina.

Smith pulled his groin in last week's win over Tampa Bay and
hasn't been able to practice this week.

Pakulak was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday. He punted
in eight games with New Orleans last year.

The Redskins will have to cut a player to make room for Pakulak.
Zorn said the move will be made Saturday.

Also, defensive tackle Cornelius Griffin was listed as
questionable with an elbow injury. Tackle Chris Samuels, who sat
out Thursday's practice with a knee problem, returned Friday and is
probable.
