BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Adrienne Sloane scored 18 points and
grabbed eleven rebounds to rally Pike County Central to a 55-to-42
victory over Rose Hill Academy today. It was the opening round game
of this year's Sweet 16 Tournament for the teams.
Rose Hill's Lady Royals jumped to a 14-to-four lead on the Lady
Hawks. However, Laura Terry and point guard Britt Faulkner each
picked up three first-half fouls, and the Lady Hawks rallied with
them on the bench. The game was tied at 25-all at halftime.
Emily Queen had 25 points and 14 rebounds for Rose Hill, but
Pike County pulled away, claiming a double-digit lead for much of
the fourth quarter.
Pike County Central will play into tomorrow's quarterfinal
matchup against the winner of the Shelby County-Notre Dame game.
