LCA Advances to Sweet 16 Finals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - A first-time state champion will be
crowned tonight in the girls Sweet Sixteen state basketball
tournament.
Emily London scored 21 points as Lexington Christian beat Pike
County Central 64-49 in the second semifinal game. It's Lexington
Christian's first state championship berth in school history.
They'll face Iroquois in the state title game at 8 p.m. CDT.
Iroquois, also making its first appearance in the championship
game, defeated Assumption 46-41 earlier today.
Pike County Central (22-11) led 21-20 on Holly Harris' basket
with less than two minutes left in the first half, but the Lady
Eagles closed the half with a 7-oh run and never trailed again.
