Former Wildcat Padgett Waived

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies have waived forward Scott Padgett after agreeing to buy out his contract.

The former U-K standout was traded from Houston for Jake Tsakalidis on February 13th. He averaged less than one point and one rebound a game.

The 30-year-old was drafted in the first round of the 1999 draft by the Utah Jazz. Padgett was a member of the Wildcats' 1998 N-C-A-A championship team.
