NEW YORK (AP) - Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has been
suspended for eight games for his numerous arrests.
N-F-L commissioner Roger Goodell informed Henry today that he
was down to his last chance to save his career. Henry has been
arrested four times in a 14-month span.
Goodell also suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam
"Pacman" Jones for the entire 2007 season because of his
misconduct.
Both are eligible to apply for reinstatement if they stay out of
trouble during their suspensions. Henry is eligible to attend
training camp and play in preseason games. Once the season begins,
he can't practice with the team or play in the first eight games.
Henry was suspended for two games last season for violating
league policies.
Bengals coach Marvin Lewis says he supports the commissioner's
new ruling and hopes it allows Henry to acquire a more mature
understanding of his responsibilities.
