Mickie DeMoss Resigns

The University of Kentucky Athletics Department has confirmed that women's basketball coach Mickie DeMoss has resigned.

DeMoss has stepped down after four seasons at the helm of the women's basketball team. She had a 71-56 overall record, including a 20-14 run this past season. She was named the 2006 SEC coach of the year.

DeMoss held holding a mandatory team meeting this morning before the press conference.

The Wildcats finished 20-14 (6-8 Southeastern Conference) this year, making the National Invitation Tournament. Last year, DeMoss led the Wildcats to their first NCAA tournament appearance in seven years and a breakout season that included a victory over the then top-ranked Lady Vols.
