LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach John Calipari says he's
still "ecstatic" over his team's narrow win over Miami (Ohio) on
The fourth-ranked Wildcats trailed by 18 points in the first
half before winning 72-70 on a jumper by freshman guard John Wall
just before the buzzer.
Calipari called his team's problems part of the growing pains
associated with putting in a new system. He added narrow escapes by
other top teams in the last week - including No. 1 Kansas and No. 2
Michigan State - mean the Wildcats are hardly the only team in the
country having trouble early in season.
He expects a better performance on Thursday when Kentucky (2-0)
plays Sam Houston State (2-0) at Rupp Arena.
