LCA's Seamands Named AP Coach of the Year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Coach Jason Seamands of Lexington
Christian Academy has been named the Associated Press Kentucky
girls' high school basketball coach of the year.
His Lady Eagles beat Lexington Catholic twice in the playoffs.
After losing to Catholic twice earlier in the season, by six points
each time, the Lady Eagles beat them in the 43rd District
Championship, then again in the 11th Region Championship.
After their second loss to Lexington Catholic, the Lady Eagles
won 23 games in a row, including their state championship win over
Louisville Iroquois. Lexington Christian finished the season
Jeff Haile of Henderson County, Mike Harper of Muhlenberg North,
Al Northington of Iroquois, Cheryl Darpel of Notre Dame and James
Burchell of Clay County also received votes for coach of the year.
