Reds 9, Astros 5

CINCINNATI (AP) - Home runs by Ken Griffey Junior and Adam Dunn helped the Cincinnati Reds to a 9-5 victory today over the Houston Astros.
The victory snapped a three-game losing streak and Houston's mastery of the Reds in Cincinnati this year. The Astros had won the first five games at Great American Ball Park this season. Griffey's home run was the 569th of his career, tying him for ninth on the all-time list. Dunn hit a three-run homer in the first inning, and added a triple and double. The Reds almost blew a 7-to-nothing lead, but closer David Weathers narrowly escaped giving up a game-tying grand slam when Morgan Ensberg's drive hooked foul in the eighth inning. Weathers finished for the save, making starter Aaron Harrang 5-and-1. Matt Albers, 1-and-2, took the loss.
