Antone DeJesus and Ryan Wilkes each had
three hits and drove in two runs as Kentucky took the weekend
Southeastern Conference series from Mississippi with a 9-7 win on
Sunday.
Kentucky's 2-1 series win snapped a streak of eight consecutive
home series victories for Ole Miss (33-20, 14-13 SEC)
Kentucky (33-17-1, 12-14-1) withstood a late rally by Ole Miss,
which scored four runs in the seventh inning to pull within 8-7.
Greg Dombrowski (5-2) picked up the win after pitching 6 2-3
innings. He allowed eight hits and seven runs with five strikeouts
and no walks. Only four of the runs were earned.
Aaron Lovett pitched 2 1-3 innings of one-hit relief for his
sixth save.
Nathan Baker (6-2) suffered his first SEC loss of the season
after giving up five runs and walking three in 4 1-3 innings.
