Kentucky Derby winner Street Sense worked five furlongs in a minute flat Tuesday morning at Churchill Downs in his final major preparation for Saturday's Preakness Stakes. Regular rider Calvini Borel was aboard.
Afterwards trainer Carl Nafzger called the workout perfect, saying Street Sense was relaxed and never charging the bit. Coming off a two and a quarter length victory in the Derby Street Sense will be the favorite Saturday in what looks like a Preakness field of nine. Only three ran against Street Sense at Churchill Downs. Hard Spun finished second, Curlin third and trainer Todd pletcher says he's seriously considering running Circular Quay who finished sixth in the Kentucky Derby.
