Vandy's Price Shares National Player of the Year Honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Vanderbilt left-hander David Price and
Florida State second baseman Tony Thomas shared Collegiate
Baseball's player of the year award Wednesday.
Price, also the Southeastern Conference pitcher of the year, is
11-0 this season with a 2.71 ERA and 175 strikeouts. The Commodores
secured their first No. 1 overall seeding in the NCAA tournament
after winning the SEC title.
Thomas, the Atlantic Coast Conference's player of the year, has
a .442 average with 107 hits, 49 RBIs and 30 steals.
Both players also were selected to the Louisville Slugger NCAA
Division I All-America first team.
Vanderbilt reliever Casey Thomas and outfielder Dominic de la
Osa also were selected to the All-America team along with Florida
State right-hander Bryan Henry and catcher Buster Posey.
