Lexington Christian Academy Wins 1A Title 55-19

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) - Dominique Hayden ran for 210 yards and
two touchdowns to help Lexington Christian capture their first
KHSAA 1A State title with a 55-19 victory over Mayfield 55-19.
The game was sloppy early, with both teams combining for six
turnovers in the first quarter. The Eagles (14-1) scored first
after an interception by Sam Maybriar set up a Hayden's five-yard
touchdown run with 5:50 left in the opening quarter.
The Cardinals (13-2) got a 47-yard touchdown pass from Luke Guhy
to Xavier Shelton with 58 seconds left in the quarter, but
Lexington Christian scored 21 unanswered points to take a 28-7 lead
at halftime.
Mayfield opened the second half scoring with a one-yard
touchdown run by Matthew Schultz but couldn't get much else going.
Lucas Witt was 13-for-20 for 205 yards passing and had three
touchdowns. Branden Burdette caught seven passes for 141 yards and
two touchdowns for the Eagles.
Guhy capped the game 15-for-28 for 263 yards and two touchdowns
for Mayfield. Tyreese Murrel ran for 87 yards on 18 carries and
Xavier Shelton caught eight passes for 174 yards and two
