Louisville to introduce Strong as new football coach

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Florida defensive coordinator Charlie
Strong is headed to Louisville.
School spokesman Kenny Klein says the school is planning a press
conference Wednesday afternoon to introduce Strong as its new head
coach.
Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich flew to Gainesville,
Fla., on Wednesday to meet with Strong and bring him back to
Louisville, where the hire will be presented to the Athletic
Association's board of directors for approval. A board meeting is
scheduled for 3:30 p.m. EST.
Strong will replace Steve Kragthorpe, who was fired Nov. 28
following three disappointing seasons with the Cardinals.
Terms of Strong's contract were not yet completed. He has spent
the last seven seasons at Florida helping mold the Gators into one
of the top defensive teams in the country.
