Louisville is making its first trip to
the College World Series after beating Oklahoma State 20-to-2
today.
The Cardinals banged out 21 hits off eight pitchers and had a
commanding lead for most of the game.
The two teams were playing in Game Three of the best-of-three
Super Regional at Louisville's home field.
The Cardinals scored five runs in the second and fourth innings.
Pete Rodriguez led the way with four hits and a two-run home run.
Before this season, Louisville had never won a game in the
N-C-A-A baseball tournament.
Athletics director Tom Jurich calls the win the biggest ever in
the program's history.
The Cardinals will face Rice in the first round beginning Friday
in Omaha, Nebraska.
