MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - First-round draft pick Ben Revere agreed
Tuesday to a minor league contract with the Minnesota Twins and
will receive a $750,000 signing bonus.
Revere was taken with the 28th overall selection last Thursday
out of Lexington Catholic High School in Kentucky. The Twins,
enamored of Revere's speed, picked him ahead of most projections.
The 19-year-old is listed at 5-foot-9 and 170 pounds and batted
.516 in 91 at-bats during his senior season with nine home runs, 41
RBIs, 10 doubles, five triples and 24 stolen bases.
Minnesota also agreed to terms with 10 other draft picks on
Tuesday, ranging from the sixth to 25th rounds.
