Dunlap named SEC Player of the Week

Kentucky's Victoria Dunlap (Nashville, Tenn.) was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after leading the Wildcats over intrastate rival Louisville 101-67 on Sunday, the league office in Birmingham, Ala., announced.

The junior forward charted a near triple-double as she scored a game-high 27 points, pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and recorded a career-high eight steals in the win. She also swatted a career-high tying four blocks. Her 10 field goals tied a season high and 21 attempts marked a new career best.

Dunlap ranks in the top three of six SEC statistical categories, including leading the league in steals (3.6) and blocks (2.6) per game. She has scored 20 or more points in four games this season and has reached double figures in points in every game she has played (nine).

This is Dunlap’s fifth overall conference Player of the Week honor as she was named POW once last season and SEC Freshman of the Week three times in 2007-08.
