Former Wildcat now offensive coordinator at Texas Tech

Troy offensive coordinator Neal Brown, a Danville native, is the new offensive coordinator atTexas Tech.

Brown just completed his fourth year on Troy's staff and second year as offensive coordinator. Former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville was introduced as the Red Raiders' new head coach Sunday and sought out Brown at the American Football Coaches Association coaches' convention, Blakeney said.

Brown came to Troy with Tony Franklin, a former UK assistant and now the offensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee, and the two still talk regularly. Brown played for Franklin while Franklin was an assistant coach at Kentucky.

Brown, the youngest coordinator at the Football Bowl Subdivision level at 29 years old, led the Trojans to a No. 3 national ranking in yards per game at 485.7
