North Carolina station reporting Cutliffe will take over at Tennessee

Greensboro, NC station WFMY is reporting that David Cutcliffe will take over as the next head coach at Tennessee.

Cutcliffe, who just completed his second season at Duke, returns to Knoxville, where he spent 1982-98 with the Vols, before becoming the head coach at Mississippi.

The 55 year-old Cutcliffe spent seven seasons at Ole Miss, before being fired after the 2004 season.

Cutcliffe's Blue Devils finished 5-7 last season.

He reportedly will replace Lane Kiffin, who left Tennessee on Tuesday to become the head coach at Southern California.
