Cats humbled as they prepare for Vandy

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach John Calipari says the
Wildcats may have gotten a little too full of themselves after
rising to the No. 1 ranking on Monday.
Calipari said the team's quick ascension to the top spot and a
phone call from President Barack Obama on Tuesday afternoon as a
"Thank You" for a Haitian relief fundraiser may have played a
small role in an upset loss to South Carolina on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats (19-1, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) shot just 39
percent from the floor and had 15 turnovers against the Gamecocks
to end their perfect 19-0 start.
Calipari cautioned his players that they can't afford to hang
their heads. Up next is No. 21 Vanderbilt. The Commodores (16-3,
5-0) have won 10 straight games and are in first-place in the SEC.
