University of Kentucky Sprinter Jenna Martin Competing in Pan Am Games

SAO PAULO, Brazil (AP) - UK sprinter Jenna Martin will be in Brazil this weekend competing in the Pan American Games.

Martin will run in the 400-meter dash for Canada, her native country, during the games. Martin set UK freshman records in the indoor and outdoor 400 last year. She made it all the way to the semifinals in last month's NCAA championships.

Martin, who is from Nova Scotia, Canada, anchored the UK four-by-100 relay during the NCAA Mideast Regional, helping the team post the second fastest time in school history.
