UK's Calipari says SEC title means 'nothing'

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - John Calipari is one win away from
clinching a Southeastern Conference championship in his first
season at Kentucky, and he couldn't care less.
The No. 2 Wildcats (27-1, 12-1) would assure themselves of at
least a share of their 44th league title by beating No. 19
Tennessee Saturday in Knoxville. They would get the championship
outright if Vanderbilt also loses at Arkansas.
But asked Friday what winning the SEC would mean, Calipari
answered: "Nothing."
The day before, he even took a small swipe at the SEC tournament
in Nashville, cracking that he was indeed trying to get his team
ready for a tournament, but not that one.
Calipari says the real aim is getting a high seed in the NCAA
tournament. The Wildcats beat the Vols earlier this month.
