Kentucky Leads Nation In Basketball Attendance

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - The NCAA reports that for the eleventh time in 12 seasons, the University of Kentucky has led the nation in average attendance.

The NCAAs recently compiled attendance figures from this past season reveal that in 2006-2007, U-Ks average crowd of 23-thousand, 421 led all of Division One mens basketball.

It marks the 19th time in the 31-year history of Rupp Arena that Kentucky has had the top attendance figure. A total of 374-thousand, 737 fans passed through the turnstiles in downtown Lexington for 16 Wildcat games during the past season. Syracuse, with an average crowd of 21-thousand, 516, was second, followed by North Carolina with 20-thousand, 693, Tennessee with 19-thousand, 661 and Louisville with 18-thousand, 488.
